Mandler's group deals with a wide range of scientific activities spanning from basic to applied research. The common base of these activities is either electrochemistry, surface science or coatings.
Phase transfer catalysis, theory and applications. Catalytic process development. Liquid phase autoxidations. Formate salts as hydrogen and energy carriers. Gas and liquid phase halogenations. Selective bromination processes.
We love structure and order. Nature does too sometimes (when enthalpy prevails), but sometimes not (when entropy wins). We study the principles of self-assembly in order to learn how to control it and obtain structured materials.
We have set an multifaceted platform for the study of molecular layers-solid substrate interactions, covering Organic Chemistry, Surface Science, Molecular and Biomolecular Electronics and Photonics.
