A new competition inaugurated at the Nano Center 2023 annual conference: "The 3D Printed Nano Art" - 12 pioneer projects established by students and postdocs. The projects were designed and printed to visualize their research in 3D.
Prof. Hadar Steinberg is an associate professor at the Racah institute of physics. He completed his B.Sc. in mathematics and physics (1994) at the Talpiot program at the Hebrew University and an M.Sc. in astrophysics at Tel Aviv university (1999). He completed his Ph.D. in condensed matter physics at the Weizmann under the supervision of Prof. Amir Yacoby, specializing in low-temperature electronic transport.
Prof. Nir Bar-Gill is an associate professor in the Department of Applied Physics and the Racah Institute of Physics at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He holds a B.Sc. degree in Physics and Electrical Engineering (1998) and a M.Sc. degree in Physics (2003) from the Technion. He completed his PhD (2010) in the field of ultracold atoms at the Weizmann Institute of Science.
Dr. Roy Shenhar is an associate professor in the Institute of Chemistry. He holds a double major B.Sc. degree in Chemistry and Computer Science and received his PhD in Chemistry in 2002, all from the Hebrew University. After a postdoctoral period at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst (2002-2004) as a Fulbright scholar and another postdoctoral year at the Technion as a Zeff fellow (2005), he started his independent career at the Hebrew University in 2006.
Dr. Liraz Chai is an assistant professor and a senior lecturer in the Institute of Chemistry at the Hebrew University since 2014. She holds a B.Sc. degree in Chemistry from Tel Aviv University. She got her M.Sc. degree in 2000 and PhD in 2007, both in chemistry and from the Weizmann Institute of Science. Following a short postdoctoral study at the Weizmann Institute of Science (2008), she was a postdoctoral Rothschild fellow in the department of microbiology and immunology at Harvard Medical School (2009-2013).
Prof. Galia Blum is a senior lecturer in the Institute of Drug Research in the School of Pharmacy at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem since 2009. She holds her B.Sc. degree in Chemistry (1994). She made her PhD. in Biological Chemistry (2003) with Prof. Alexander Levitzki, all from the Hebrew University. After that (2003-2008), she moved to Stanford University, USA for postdoctoral studies in the lab of Dr. Matthew Bogyo for developing activity-based probes for cysteine proteases for cancer imaging.
Prof. Ofra Benny is a senior lecturer in the Institute for Drug Research in the School of Pharmacy at the Hebrew University since 2013. She holds B.Sc., M.Sc. and PhD. degrees in biotechnology engineering all from the Technion (1996-2007). She had a position as a research associate and instructor at the Boston Children’s Hospital, Vascular Biology at the Harvard Medical School for three years (2010-2013) where she also did her postdoctoral studies (2007-2010).
Prof. Uri Banin is a full professor in the Institute of Chemistry, and the incumbent of the Alfred & Erica Larisch Memorial Chair. He holds a double major B.Sc. degree in Chemistry and Physics, and received his PhD in Chemistry in 1994, all from the Hebrew University. He did his postdoctoral research at Paul Alivisatos’ group, at the University of California, Berkeley (1994-1997).
