Our group focuses on marine microbiology and biogeochemistry. Our mission is centered around unraveling the microscopic mechanisms microbes use to orchestrate the flux of elements within the vast oceanic expanse. We are captivated by the enigmatic ways in which microbes, the tiniest of life forms, architect and influence their microenvironments through growth and interactions while shaping our oceanic ecosystems. Employing microfluidics, microscopy, biochemistry, and computer simulations, we reveal the secrets of their adaptations and interactions and determine their impact on the environment.
