Dr. Moran Frenkel-Pinter

Moran Frenkel
Institute of Chemistry, Faculty of Science

Brief Summary of research:

Development of accurate, general and predictive models of molecular complexity is essential to understanding the chemical origins of life and the very basics of current biochemistry.

Specific research topics related to Nanoscience and Nanotechnology:

The Frenkel-Pinter lab studies evolution of chemical systems (i.e. chemical evolution) and generation of novel polymers with new emergent properties such as structure and function. The Frenkel-Pinter lab is merging concepts from origins-of-life and biotechnology to harness the creative potential of chemical evolution towards development of evolving functional biodegradable polymers for biotechnological applications.
