Brief Summary of research:
The BioGeoChem lab studies the biogeochemical cycling of nutrients, contaminants and organic matter in soil and water systems.
Specific research topics related to Nanoscience and Nanotechnology:
We aim to decipher the mechanisms controlling the composition, structure, mobility and bioavailability of elements in natural systems, while paying special attention to nutrient and contaminant dynamics, redox status, and organic matter composition. For this purpose we use a combination of micro- and nano-scale analyses at the Nano Centre including XPS, Raman, SEM/TEM and more.
