Recent discoveries of non-trivial relations between chirality and magnetism, such as in the case of the “chiral induced spin selectivity” effect and electrical magneto-chiral anisotropies, are normally supported by various electrical transport measurements. Alongside this field, many studies focused on optical measurements of induced natural chiroptical activity in nanoparticles, and more specifically in excitonic transitions of semiconductor nanoparticles.
I will present work aimed at elucidating the relation between spin properties and chirality in nanocrystals using combined chiroptical and magneto-optical spectroscopies. The purpose of this work is to determine how the combination of chirality and magnetism affect the fine structure of the exciton.
